Photographing some children of a friends that I know on Long Beach Island. With these rashguards, they look like little skittles, lined up along the shore. There was nothing more fun at the shore, when we were kids, than sitting there letting the waves lap at our toes. Of course, the sludge at the bottom of the bathing suit made the rest of the day interesting! Fond memories of a warm, summer weekend make me almost forget that it is ten degrees outside!

the shack
A fond, fond memory for me is Long Beach Island, New Jersey. This little strip of beachie goodness starts with a greeting from the causeway, as you are heading east...toward a beckoning ocean. You can smell the ocean, hear the gulls and get a little rush in your throat. On your right, you spy the official harbinger of your vacation on LBI...no, not Ole Barney...it is this shack. A ramshackled building that reminds you of crusty old men, hip waders on, ready to find some dinner the proper way. They are going to rebuild this building, last I heard. I'll have to keep everyone posted. Here is a view as the sun was rising in the morning sky. Makes me warm thinking of it!

Where is That Corner?
We all know that spring is right around the corner. Sometimes, I need a little reminder. Hope this helps you to feel a little "spring" in your step.

The "Taj" for Tail-Waggers
On a hot, summer day there is nothing like a little spot in the shade. A dog would just love this little slice of heaven!

Winter Blues
Nothing like a fresh snowfall to bring the barren to light. Just a random shot along a pond. This place is in Webster, NY. North Ponds Park, to be exact.

Happy New Year
Well, I've been thinking. Perhaps I should try to post more than once every blue moon. On New Year's Day, I was planning on posting a blog every day. Let's be serious, I think I would cause the earth to shift, if I ever stuck to what I had "planned". It's January 2nd but not quite midnight, I still have a chance. So, trying to be reasonable, maybe once every couple of days. It would be a good start for the new year, at least for the discipline of it. Hold my tootsies to the fire, will ya? Here are a few from the downtown fireworks. Glad that I didn't fight traffic to go see them. BTW, I am not a great firework photographer. One of these days, I'll get it down pat. My point is...just do it. No matter what, just do it.

Little Baby "A"
This little peanut is a darling. I am just learning about photographing babies, just to build my skill-set. Wasn't she great for practice? Her mom was a great sport, helping to pose her and trying to keep her from bopping her head on the wooden floor!
