Treasure Hunting

Aunt "Dizzie" (Liz) has been reading to Conor about Blackbeard, the Pirate. An appropriate story for a stay in the Outer Banks, NC but maybe a little much for a 5-year old. However, he is absorbing it all and has been engrossed in this story. When we found out that there were remnants of a wreck, the Flambeau (among many in that area but the one visible because the sands have shifted), we couldn't help thinking that this would be a great time to bury some treasure for him to find. He happened to be staying back with his dad when we ladies (and his mom) were at the wreckage. Little Conor had a gift given to him of a treasure bag, shovel, bucket, eyepatch and sword. He brought the shovel and bucket and was told to find the X and dig. His college won't be paid for but a dollar in "silver" can get you a treat somewhere, can't it? He was grinning for hours.
